Survey Questions for the Instructors-Natalie
I will be changing the format and wording to my questions to reflect those below.
1. Instructors must stay away from the practice of Shovelware when they are constructing their online courses. What does the word
Shovelware refer to?

a. When instructors have to construct their course with a particular type of software to view the tabs in Blackboard
b. When instructors construct their courses with hand-outs only to teach online.
c. When instructors construct their courses with extremely hard material and expect for the students to complete material in five
minutes or less.

The term shovelware has evolved to describe this practice: Shovel the course onto the Web and say you are teaching online, but
don’t think much about it. Online activities for students should have specific pedagogical or course management purposes.

2. When you have sidebar conversations during a Synchronous presentation, these conversations may be very distracting to the
presenter even though they should not occur. How would you show respect to the presenter during a synchronous presentation?
